How to beat Roark

  • Types that hit the team hard: Ground hits 3 of 3, Fighting hits 3 of 3, Ice hits 3 of 3, Grass hits 3 of 3 for double damage or more.
  • Types that take the least from its moves: out of 12 damaging moves on the team: Steel (resists 12, none hit for double); Ghost (immune to 6, none hit for double); Rock (resists 6, none hit for double).

Roark's levels never change, so the fight is the same for every player. If it is too hard, train up, change your moves to hit the types above, or swap a better matchup into the lead slot. Heal your team before you start. See status conditions for what poison, burn and sleep do mid-fight.

Before you go

  • Buy a ticket to Sinnoh at the Airport for $10,000,000. The Airport only sells it once you hold all 8 Hoenn badges.
  • You can fight any of the eight Sinnoh leaders first. The badge is only given on your first win against Roark.
