Getting started

Where do I buy Poke Balls?

At Mart Co., under Explore. Its Items [Cash] list sells the Poke Ball for $150, the Great Ball for $5,000 and the Ultra Ball for $10,000. New trainers also get a starter kit from Professor Oak after the Ash battle.

How do I add a caught Pokémon to my team?

Open your Pokémon Box, find the Pokémon and put it in the next open team slot. A new catch is never lost: if it is not on your team bar, it is in the Box. See your team and Box.

Which Pokémon can I find on which map?

Every map page lists its wild Pokémon, and every Pokédex entry lists the maps where that Pokémon appears. Start at the list of places.

Battling and levels

How do I level up faster?

Experience for a defeated Pokémon grows with its level to the power 1.675, so fighting the highest-level opponent you can beat pays far more than farming weak ones. NPC trainers scale with your strongest team Pokémon, and the Dark Trainer has the highest multiplier (8 to 9.5 times). The EXP items are covered in experience and levels.

How strong is an NPC trainer?

It depends on you. Each Pokémon on an NPC team is a fixed multiple of the level of your strongest active Pokémon, and the multiplier is listed for every trainer on the trainers page.

How do I evolve a Pokémon?

Open the Pokémon and choose Evolve Pokémon. Every evolution it can take right now is listed as its own row, so pick one and confirm. If nothing shows up, the Pokémon either has not reached the level yet or has no evolution available. Stone and item evolutions need the item held by that Pokémon first. Full rules are in how evolution works.

Can I catch legendary Pokémon?

Yes, once you have all 48 Gym badges and a Legend Ball in your Backpack. They only appear on maps that have a legendary assigned. See legendary Pokémon for the odds and the map list.

Collecting and crafting

What do I do with Rubies, Sapphires, Topazes and Fossils?

Spend them in the Crafting Area. One craft costs 100 coins, 1 Fossil, 5 Ruby, 5 Sapphire and 5 Topaz. It usually gives an Ancient Egg and rarely a Mega Egg, but about one craft in five fails, and a failed craft still spends every ingredient. See crafting and egg incubation.

Where do evolution stones and berries come from?

You can find stones and berries while exploring a map with an Itemfinder or Dowsing Machine, win them from Dusknoir's Haunted Ground, where an item is one of the eight possible rewards, or buy them from other players. Berries can also be grown in the Berry Garden. See finding items on the map and the Berry Garden.

Where do I get a Mega Stone?

From the Dark Alley, for 6,500 coins and 10,000 clan credits. Hold the stone on an eligible Pokémon and evolve it from the Evolve Pokémon screen.

How do I get an Exp. Share?

The Dark Alley sells Exp. Share for 7,500 coins and 250,000,000 clan credits. Exp. All costs 2,500 coins plus five Exp. Share. Details on the Dark Alley page.

How many coins does the Wishing Well give?
