Pokemon Beginner Guide

Just joined Pokemon Dusk Reborn? Here is the short version: choose a Pokemon, beat Ash, catch something you like, then decide what kind of Trainer you want to become.

Your first few minutes

1. Pick your first Pokemon and trainer look.
2. Follow Professor Oak into the Ash battle. Choose a move each turn and watch the battle log if you are not sure what happened.
3. Collect Oak's field kit after the win. It gives you the Poke Balls you need for your first catch.
4. Explore Black Forest, battle a wild Pokemon and use Backpack to throw a ball.
5. Open your Pokemon Box and add the catch to your active team.
6. Take on Scout Liam to finish the opening Trainer Journey.

The Trainer Journey remembers where you are, so you do not have to finish everything in one sitting.

Then the game opens up

The opening is only there to teach the controls. After that, choose what sounds fun:

• Catch and collect: explore maps, check nearby Pokemon and build teams around the ones you like.
• Battle and train: improve your team and work through 48 Gym badges across six regions.
• Trade: make direct trades, browse Pokemon auctions or try Wonder Trade.
• Build an estate: buy a home, grow Berries and use the Farmers Market.
• Play side activities: visit Games Corner, fish, hunt bugs, mine, complete achievements and join events.
• Meet the community: join a clan, use the forums or chat with players on Discord.

There is no perfect first team and no single correct route. Pick a Pokemon or goal you care about and build from there.
