Wild Pokémon in Foggy Wastelands

Walk around the map and a wild Pokémon will turn up. Each of these can appear, and they are all about equally likely, with the last two a little rarer. A small chance of a shiny version applies to every wild encounter.

What stands out

• Most common types here: 5 Steel, 4 Electric, and 3 Fairy (a dual-type Pokémon counts for both).

Legendary Pokémon

Thundurus can show up here in place of a normal wild Pokémon. Two conditions apply: you need all 48 Gym badges, and a legendary can only be caught with a Legend Ball. Once the map has decided something turns up, the chance that it is the legendary is about 1 in 200, so expect to walk a lot. More in how legendary Pokémon work.
