50/50 Game: bets, races and odds
The 50/50 Game is a board where players bet against each other. A bet you post cannot be taken back, and a Pokémon you race can be lost.
What it is
The 50/50 Game in the Games Corner is not a game you play against the computer. You post a bet, another player takes it, and the game picks a winner at random. There are three kinds: 50/50 bets in cash, coins or Battle Points, Rock Paper Scissors bets in cash or coins, and Pokémon races.

- How to play, in the game's own words.
- The Gambler of the Day rules and prize.
- Amount, Type (Cash, Coins, Battlepoints or Pokemon) and how many copies of the bet to post.
- Bet Type: 50/50 Game Bet or Rock Paper Scissors.
- Make Bet posts your bet to the board.
50/50 bets: cash, coins and Battle Points
Fill in an Amount, pick the Type and press Make Bet. The amount leaves your balance straight away and your bet appears on the board for that currency. Another player takes it by pressing Take Bet, which risks the same amount of their own.
- The game picks the winner with an even coin flip. The winner ends up with both stakes: a player who takes your bet and wins gains your amount, and if they lose you get your stake back plus theirs.
- Minimum per bet: $10,000 in cash, 5 coins or 100 Battle Points.
- You can post 1 to 5 copies of the same bet at once with Multiple Bets, and no more than 10 open bets in total. Pokémon on the race track count toward that limit.
- You can't take your own bet, and you need enough of that currency to match it. If someone else got there first you see "Whoa, too slow".
- The player who posted the bet gets a message saying who took it and whether they won or lost.
Rock Paper Scissors
Choose Rock Paper Scissors under Bet Type, pick Rock, Paper, Scissors or Random, then enter an amount. Only cash and coins work here. The minimum is $10,000 or 10 coins.
- The player who takes your bet picks their own move. Rock beats scissors, paper beats rock and scissors beat paper.
- If you both pick the same move it is a draw and your stake goes back to you.
- The winner collects the loser's amount on top of their own stake.
Pokémon races
Choose Pokemon under Type to put one of your Pokémon on the race track. It has to be in your Box, not on your team, and it can't be a loaned Pokémon. While it waits there it is out of your Box, and there is no button to take it back. You can have up to two Pokémon on the track at once.
Another player picks one of their own Pokémon and races yours. Each side rolls a random number, and the higher roll wins:
- The challenger wins: they receive your Pokémon. Theirs stays with them.
- You win, or the rolls tie: you receive the challenger's Pokémon and your own Pokémon comes back to you. A tie always goes to the Pokémon that was on the track.
Regular Pokémon on the track can be raced by any Pokémon. Variant Pokémon such as Shadow, Frost, Haunted, Golden, Shiny, Mega, Baby, Demon and Eternal forms can only be raced by the same kind of variant.
The real odds
The race roll for each Pokémon is a random whole number from 1 up to its level plus 350. Level matters, but only a little, because the 350 dominates. Here is the challenger's chance of winning for a few pairings:
| Challenger | Pokémon on the track | Challenger wins |
|---|---|---|
| Level 50 | Level 50 | 49.9% |
| Level 100 | Level 50 | 55.4% |
| Level 100 | Level 10 | 59.9% |
| Level 100 | Level 1 | 60.9% |
| Level 50 | Level 100 | 44.3% |
| Level 1 | Level 100 | 38.9% |
So even a level 100 racing a level 1 only wins about six races in ten. A race is close to a coin flip with the Pokémon itself as the stake, so never race one you would miss.
Gambler of the Day
Every 50/50 win, and every Slots jackpot of 300 coins or more, counts toward Gambler of the Day. The player with the most wins before the daily reset takes the prize: 5 EXP Boosts (20%), 1 gem, 1,000 coins and $75,000,000. Past winners are posted in the Hall of Fame, and the 50/50 Game also has its own board on the Rankings page (see leaderboards).
Sending a Pokémon straight to another player is a different thing, covered in trading and auctions.
