Pokemon Dusk RebornWiki New here? How to play

Battles, Gyms and training

You do not need the rarest Pokémon to start. You need a healthy lead, useful moves and a couple of teammates you can switch to.

During a battle

  • Your slot 1 Pokémon starts the fight.
  • Choose one of its four moves and read the battle log to see damage, status changes and misses.
  • Use Switch when another Pokémon is a better match.
  • Use Backpack when the battle allows an item.
  • If the team is worn down, heal before a harder opponent.

Training a useful team

Levels help, but variety matters too. Keep more than one type on your team and check which moves each Pokémon actually has. Put the Pokémon you want to train in slot 1, then switch when a matchup looks rough.

How to reach a Gym leader

  1. Open Pokemon Gyms. It lists the six regions: Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova and Kalos.
  2. Pick a region. If you are not there yet, the game says "You have to take the airport to ... before you can battle gym leaders in ..." Use the Airport link, travel, then come back.
  3. Each leader has a card with their Gym town, the Pokémon on their team and a Battle button. Hover over a card to see the Gym type and the badge you win.
  4. Press Battle to start the fight.

  1. One card per leader, with their Gym and the Pokémon they use.
  2. Battle starts the Gym fight.

The Gym path

Pokémon Gyms tracks 48 badges: eight each for Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova and Kalos. Every leader's team, levels and counters are in the Gyms section. Kanto starts with Brock, Misty, Lt. Surge, Erika, Sabrina, Koga, Blaine and Giovanni. Start with the first leader in a region and come back after more training if a battle stops you. A loss is a hint to change levels, moves or team order, not a dead end. All 48 badges are also what unlocks the Legend Ball for legendary Pokémon.

Other ways to battle

Wild encounters help with catching and training. Trainer battles test the team you already own. The game also has harder routes, towers, league battles, PvP and clan competition for a longer challenge. Status effects are explained in status conditions.
