Fishing is a scoring contest, not a catch-and-keep activity -- you never receive the fish into your box. Here is how the daily leaderboard actually works.
Where to fish Open Games Corner and select Fishing Contest. You need to already own one of the three rods below -- using a rod does not consume it (it is a durable tool, not bait), and there is no coin or energy cost per cast. The three rods Old Rod Good Rod Super RodAll three rods can hook the exact same pool of Water and Ice-type Pokemon -- your rod does not change which species you can catch. What it changes is your score: a better rod multiplies the hooked Pokemon's stats into a higher number, so Super Rod consistently scores higher than Old Rod on the same fish. Your rod can occasionally crack from use and need replacing -- keep a spare in your Backpack if you plan to fish often. How scoring works Each cast rolls a random qualifying Pokemon and turns its stat total into a score, boosted by your rod. Every cast updates your current score on the daily leaderboard, and separately tracks your personal best. Daily leaderboard and prizes The top 3 highest scores of the day win prizes:
Winners and payouts are settled once per day on the server's own schedule, not the instant you cast -- check back the next day to see if you placed. Fishing Contest is limited to one account per player. Guide reflects the fishing system as of October 2026.
