Hey everyone,
Are you ready to Be one of the bad guys, join or create your clan and bring forth trouble and destruction on Pokemon trainers all over the world! I’ve been working on some ideas inspired by classic text based RPGs and I want to open this up for discussion before anything gets finalized. This is about bringing a new layer of depth for strategy and gameplay into Pokémon Dusk Reborn, especially for PvP and clan-based gameplay. PvP Level Cap at 100: Right now, PvE battles can go up to level 200k or even more and while that works for grinding and casual gameplay, it makes PvP feel too one-sided. I’m considering introducing a level cap of 100 for PvP battles. The idea here isn’t just balance but it’s to make battles more tactical, where team composition, move choices, items, and typing actually matter. This would give more value to planning your team, rather than relying on raw power or one-shotting. PvP battles would still be asynchronous — you’ll be fighting another player’s real team with their actual items, stats, and moves, but the game will control them. New PvP Outcomes: After a PvP win, instead of just walking away with just experience, you’ll choose how the outcome plays out: • Hospitalize – Sends the opponent to the hospital for a certain long time. (25 mins) • Mug – Also sends them to the hospital but gives you some of their money/coins as well. (15 mins) • Leave – Lets them go without taking anything, but earns the most clan respect. (7-8 mins) This makes PvP feel more meaningful and lets you choose whether to go for profit or clan respect. Also might add limit to PvP attack or a player account gets cooldown before they can be attacked again. Hospital & Jail System: If you lose a fight as the defender, you go to the hospital. If you initiate the attack and lose, you end up in jail. If a player is hospitalised or jailed he cannot battle PvP till the time is over or someone bails them. Now jail isn’t something you can just walk out of. You’ll need: • A bailout (paid with cash) • Or someone from your clan tries to bust you out, which can fail and land them in jail too. Clan Wars & Respect System: I’m also exploring Clan Wars, where one clan declares war on another. During this time: • Every action in PvP contributes to your clan’s respect. • Each clan would start with something like 100 respect points. If a clan reaches 0 respect then they disband. • Respect is gained based on the PvP outcome: • Hospitalizing = +1 • Mugging = +2 • Leaving = +3 So there’s a trade-off - do you go for short-term gain or long-term respect? Also respect is deducted from other clan. This adds a bit of risk, but also encourages teamwork between clan members. IVs, Natures & Team Strategy: We already have natures in the game, but I want to finally implement IVs — so each Pokémon becomes more unique and team-building becomes more intentional. Also, I want to create a system where players can: • Set up an offline defensive team — so even if you’re not online, your party is there to defend you. • Carefully build an attacking team, considering type advantages, stat builds, items and nature. This update would be pretty big - I’m thinking of calling it Team Rocket Takeover to reflect the direction: a mix of strategy, rivalry, and criminal-style mechanics layered onto the world of Pokémon. My goal is to increase activity in the game, bring new players to the RPG and make cash relevant again instead of just coins. I really want to hear your thoughts on this: • What do you like? • What sounds too risky or complicated? • Anything else you’d love to see as part of this? Let’s discuss. This is your game too!

Attack Fairness & Targeting Formula:
One concern is preventing bullying or overpowered players constantly attacking weak teams. To manage this, we’re working on a targeting formula to ensure fair matchups. Here’s the concept: If the sum of the attacker’s team levels is greater than half of the opponent’s team total, they can attack. If not, they can’t — unless it’s a clan conflict and both are in the same clan (friendly fire allowed). Example: Your team of 6 Pokémon, all level 100 = total 600 The opponent’s team = total level 30 Half of your team = 300, which is greater than 30 → You can’t attack them However, if both teams are low-level (e.g., both teams with level 5 Pokémon), the formula balances itself and allows the battle. This keeps the PvP experience fair, especially for new or low-level players, without removing the thrill of battling.

Starting the PvP - When a player cannot attack another player:
While in jail you can't attack. This player is in jail. While in hospital you can't attack. This player is in hospital. This player is too weak to be attacked. You can only attack someone when you have energy. (New energy/stamina concept to be introduced) You are in the same clan as other player. You can only attack someone in the same region location! (Region) Added the concept of Energy: Every attack on other trainers takes 20% of energy. Energy regenerates at a rate TBD. Temporary regeneration can be boosted by items like Fresh Water, Energy Drink, Energy Powder and Energy Root. Weak trainer Rules: Rule 1: Total Team Check Attacker can only battle if (attacker total level / 2) <= defender total level Rule 2: Max Pokémon Level Gap The level difference between attacker’s strongest Pokémon and defender’s strongest Pokémon must be ≤ 20, unless they’re in the same clan.

A bit more information on the PvP battle actions, when you win a PvP fight, you’ll have three options:
Mug – you steal some of their cash and they end up in the hospital for a while (this gives +2 respect to your clan). Hospitalize – you just knock them out of action for a longer time, around 20–30 minutes, so they can’t battle back (+1 respect). Leave – you let them go. They still get sent to the hospital but for a shorter time, like 7–15 minutes, and this one gives the most respect (+3 respect). If you lose as the defender, you go to the hospital. If you start the fight and lose, you’ll end up in jail instead and will need to wait it out or have someone bail you out. So the strategy is, do you go for money, do you just disable someone or do you take the high respect route? Hint: You can always store your money in Bank to be safe from attackers.

Finalized Energy Rules:
Max Energy = 100 On PvP attack start: -15 energy On PvP loss: -10 energy Energy regen = 4 energy/min (Items to boost energy regen rate will be added later once update is live and balanced) If energy is less than 15 → cannot start a PvP battle.

But is there any rules for what pokemons u can bring? Lets say someone has 6 100 pokemons that can be found in wild. And the oponent has 6 op legendaries as his team. Is that a fair matchup. Imo concider a ban list of what pokes are allowed and what arent. Cuz not everyone has access to leggies but still wanna pvp[/b]
